Robbie's Story...
One day the mailman was delivering mail to a house, and when the lady opened the door, Robbie was with her to greet the stranger. The mailman said 'What a good looking dog! I have a Westie, too'. The lady said 'would you like to have this one?' So Robbie went home with the mailman. Turns out our mailman had no experience with boy Westies, only girls, and had no idea how to deal with a male Westie, so he turned him over to rescue This is a great dog. Awesome! He is about 5 yrs old, loves people, kids, cats, other dogs. Loves to play, go for rides in the car, loves loves loves to cuddle all night, and is very well behaved in the house. I love this dog! I hope he finds an active family with kids to play ball with, and who already has a dog or two We do not charge an adoption fee, but do ask a donation to reimburse for our medical and transport expenses. That is usually $450 for an adult dog, $650 for puppy under 1 year, and reduced amounts for senior and special needs dogs. Now that we are officially a 501c3 charity, all donations are tax deductible Each dog will be spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (negative, unless stated otherwise), treated for parasites, and up to date on shots. While we are vigilant to get everyone as healthy as possible before we send them off to start their new lives, it is to be expected that, after the stress of traveling across the country from Kansas, (where our dogs are rehabilitated), and going to a new home, they will probably need to be retreated for parasites. We want to stress that your new friend needs to be seen by your veterinarian within the first week of arrival. We absolutely guarantee a happy adoption, or you MUST return the dog and we will undo the contract. If you are not happy, the dog is not happy, and we are not happy. We are in this to make the dogs happy. You may find some of our previously adopted dogs on our 'Happy Tails' page on this website. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Robbie, a Rye Westie, West Highland White Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Westie, West Highland White Terrier for sale in Rye, or seeking a Westie, West Highland White Terrier dog from a breeder in Rye.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rye already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rye breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Westie, West Highland White Terrier breeders who help with Westie, West Highland White Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rye paves the way for another one to be saved.
