Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The first step of the adoption process is completing an application. Please visit http://southernstylegreatdanerescue.org/application/ for an online application or email us at southernstylegdr@gmail.com and request a PDF form to complete. Note: We will not answer any questions about the Dane until an application is completed and returned.
Samson’s life wasn’t too good for a long while however SSGDR came to his rescue and things are looking up. He had a cyst on his jaw, he was weathered, malnourished (98 lbs.) and spiritually broken.
It’s been a little over a month in his foster home and he has gained over 12 lbs. and his harlequin personality is shining bright. The surgery on his jaw is healed, his coat is starting to shine and his personality is boundless. He has been the perfect house guest and is adapting quickly to the leisure life.
He plays well with other dogs of all sizes and tolerates cats. Note, if the cat runs, he will chase it, but no harm, just another chance to run. Samson has not been crated, but stays in the Family Room with our other dogs when we are gone; not really sure what he would do if left totally alone. His personality to is be WITH you and needs to be told to "lay down" when you don't really need him WITH you! He can be trusted to run freely in a yard as he doesn’t venture far away. He knows most of his basic commands, comes when called, sits and waits for his meals and treats. As with many Great Danes not counter surfing is still a challenge so baby gates when he can’t be supervised.
He craves companionship, loves car rides, walks on leash or just hanging out. He would be perfect for a retiree or someone who works from home. This beautiful boy will make someone the perfect companion, his only desire is to be with you. He looks up at you with those soulful eyes and you know he is happy to share his life with you.
