My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The first time you meet Buddy, our 9-year-old blind chocolate Lab, he is apt to roll over with his legs in the air and demand – quite rightly – a rigorous belly rub. Doing so will not only win you his loyalty, it will also earn you a wagging tail and a serious amount of licks.

When he is not napping (and he does like his naps – don’t we all?), he can be found reflecting quietly on past glories while patiently awaiting your return. For this is a highly intelligent and extremely loving Lab who seeks a forever home with the right person(s).

Like humans often do, Buddy has had to adapt to change, having lost his sight due to glaucoma in 2016. Luckily, a second characteristic he shares with his two-legged friends is an enduring spirit. He has not let blindness slow him down one bit.

While he needs a little more guidance than he used to, watching him stride about the place is quite simply a thing of beauty.

Come to Lily’s and see for yourself. Sit, hug or roll with him and you will find it exceedingly difficult to tear yourself away.

This distinguished old soul lives up to his name (and then some).
