My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IDGSR WELCOMES SHELBY INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!

Shelby was found in a garbage dump in a rural remote area where animals are routinely dumped and discarded. Emaciated and skeletal when we got her, it took some time for this sweet girl to regain the weight. Shelby is good with other dogs, however we would like to place her in a home with a nice male large breed dog. She appears to be a working line Shepherd and is just a busy busy girl, so an active lifestyle would suit her just fine, lots of walks and hikes are right up her alley. She will not be happy being a couch potato. Shelby is crate trained, housebroken and is a well mannered girl. Additional advanced obedience is a must for any German Shepherd. They need that mental stimulation and they must bond to their owner and obedience work is the key to a happy and successful Shepherd experience and relationship. NO CATS FOR SHELBY!!!! Please do not email or ask telling us your cat is good with dogs. Shelby is not good with any cats. Many and most Shepherds are NOT good with cats. Shelby is a great dog who got a second chance at life and is ready to find a family of her own to love.

If you would like to apply for Shelby here is the link to our application site and then we will call you once we receive an application.
