Domino is fat and happy now, but just a couple of months ago he and his siblings were found living under a trailer in rural Arkansas -- a whole little family surviving off scraps of food being tossed at them every few days by some people who spotted them there. They were just about 10 weeks old and had no human contact when we got them, but within just a few days being in foster, Domino was a different puppy!! It was remarkable to see what a little bit of love and affection could do for these sweet babies.
Domino is a really gentle soul who might very well be part lap cat: he absolutely loves to crawl into the nearest lap, curl up and stay until you make him move! He's also been so gentle with the young children in his foster home, following the 4 year old around, patiently waiting until she turns to play with him. He's been gentle with the baby, who sometimes accidentally pulls at him -- it's like he knows she's just a little person and that it was just an accident. But make no mistake: Domino is also a full fledged puppy, running around like a little lunatic with is brother in the yard, and flattening himself down on the grass to pounce and ambush! Like most teething puppies, Domino likes to chew, but he's learning what’s acceptable and what’s not
Because of his unfortunate beginnings, Domino will still shy from strangers and moving cars, so his foster family is working on this during their daily walks. When he first arrived he wouldn’t even walk to the end of the driveway, he was so scared, but now he walks around the neighborhood only stopping for passing cars.
Domino is about 4 months old, he's very healthy and we think he's going to be a medium sized boy fully grown. We have no idea what his true mix is, but we love his markings!!
