Princess's Story...
Princess could use a new castle. How about yours? She's a gentle 6 year old Pointer mix that arrived from another shelter so not much is known about her. The other shelter said she is dog friendly and shows signs of being house trained. Princess has been well behaved since her arrival. Pointers are known to be even tempered, amiable, loyal, kind, active and affectionate. Stop by for a visit and spend some time with this cutie pie to find out if Princess is the girl for you.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Princess, a Elyria Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Pointer dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer breeders who help with Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
