My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chloe is a two-year-old female spayed standard sized black poodle. PLEASE CAREFULLY READ HER DESCRIPTION BEFORE FILLING OUT AN APPLICATION:

Chloe came from a very crowded municipal shelter and her former home was obviously not a good one. She is somewhat insecure and has not been well socialized with the dogs. Typical of her breed, Chloe is extremely affectionate and will bond like Velcro to one person in the family and become protective. Chloe is one of the highest energy dogs we have had come through our rescue and she is learning not to jump on people. Her high energy with other dogs can be annoying and she doesn't know when to stop. She plays well with balanced dogs who can put her in her place. Chloe walks very well on a leash and is happy to walk or run 5 miles and is still ready for more! If you sit on the couch Chloe will seek attention by tugging at your clothes, mouthing your hands and softly biting your elbow. We are of course working on this but because of her high energy and mouthiness small children or elderly adults are not recommended. She loves car rides and exploring as she has a busy mind and is very intelligent. Her ideal home would be with a runner or someone who wants to do agility. Chloe CANNOT be in a crate eight or nine hours a day while someone works full-time. Also typical of her breed, Chloe barks a lot when she hears anything outside as she wants to protect her family.

This is a lovely dog but she needs the right home who will use positive reinforcement training to encourage good behavior and discourage socially unacceptable behavior.
