Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Felix and i am a big lovebug and goofball Boxer boy. I am at best guess around 4 years old and was originally rescued in Puerto Rico. I am grateful, playful and happy and full of affection. Did I mention goofy? I am a Boxer after all! When I was rescued the veterinarians found I had a mast cell tumor, the tumor was removed with clear margins and I was treated with chemo for 12 weeks. I am happy to say I have recovered well and look forward to enjoying each day. I also have impaired vision in my left eye so will need someone who will be aware of this. Because of this history I am considered a special needs adoption. There is always the chance I could develop more tumors in the future or need extra veterinary care. Do you love my breed? Are you willing to take a chance on love? Have the resources and commitment to take care of any veterinary needs that may come up in my future? Because I am an adult rescue and not much is known about my past I am looking for a family with kids 10 years and older. Maybe you are the right human for me! Felix can be bossy with other dogs here at the shelter so would do best in a single dog household.
Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information, we encourage you to visit our shelter in person. Due to the high volume of interest, email and phone inquiries may not be returned on a daily basis.
