Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Fletcher is a 14 week old terrier mix. He is the most lovable, wiggly, little meatball around!
Days into having him in the rescue, Fletcher showed signs of not feeling well and his foster noticed that his eye began to look cloudy. Fletcher was rushed to an eye specialist who diagnosed him with Glaucoma. The poor baby had such severe pressure in his right eye that he felt completely miserable.
Thankfully, quick thinking and fast action helped make it possible for Fletcher to not only be able to keep his eye, but also to keep his sight.
We do not know what caused Fletcher's glaucoma but the doctors believe it may have been caused by trauma that had happened before we had him in our care or possible (but unlikely) due to a reaction to vaccines. We have decided to put off Fletcher's next round of vaccines and his neuter until he is about 20 weeks so that we can better monitor him.
Fletcher currently receives three types of eye drops per day and the doctors have said that his glaucoma is "controlled". He will need an adopter who understands that his eye may always remain cloudy and who is comfortable administering the drops if he needs to continue them after adoption.
