Benson is a younger male, probably in the range of 6 months to 2 years old. He was found by a farmer out in the county and he was starving to death. The farmer kindly took him in, and started nursing him back to health. Benson could hardly hold down food when he was first found. But he is in good shape now and has been checked out at the vet. He did not have a microchip, but an owner never came forward. Benson has very sweet eyes, semi-erect ears, and has soft, short, white and red fur.

Benson is a very sweet guy. He loves people, did great with the farmer's kids, and got along with all 3 big dogs at their house. We do not have experience with him around small dogs and cats. Our rescue took him in and we are now looking for a foster or adoptive home where he can get out of a kennel run, and into a house setting. Benson will need plenty of exercise, both running around and walking on leash (which he needs to practice). Benson is house broken and has been crated/kenneled for transport. Benson's new family will need to provide him with attention, mental stimulation, and love, and continue his training and socialization with people and dogs as he grows into an adult by age 3 or 4.

Benson's adoption fee is $350 which includes his neuter, basic up-to-date vaccinations, up-to-date rabies vaccination, flea preventative, and microchip. Even though the rescue is based in Eastern Washington, We are looking for a foster or adopter for Benson in the Seattle area, and he can be transported. If you are interested to adopt this sweet teddy bear, please email connellpetrescue@gmail.com for an application form, or you can complete an online application here:

About Red Waggin' Rescue - Kirkland Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Red Waggin' Pet Rescue is a 501(c)3 that grew out of Connell Pet Rescue. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers that do this part-time and unpaid.

The City of Connell is located in Eastern Washington, and since it is a small city, it has no animal control, no proper animal shelter, and no pet rescue services. Red Waggin' Rescue is fully staffed by part-time volunteers to help the City of Connell Police Department rescue, provide vet care for, and find new forever homes for homeless dogs and other animals from Connell, WA and the surrounding areas. Our volunteers and foster homes are active in both Eastern Washington and the Puget Sound areas.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Although there is a small holding area managed by the City of Connell Police Department, Red Waggin' Rescue/Connell Pet Rescue has no permanent shelter facility.

Our animals stay in foster homes while they await their new homes, that are found in Eastern Washington and all the way to the Puget Sound area.

Generally, if an approved adopter is interested in another part of Washington State, transport can be arranged and runs roughly every other weekend.

Our Adoption Process...

Email Connellpetrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application form.

If you are interested to make one of our animals your new family member, please email connellpetrescue@gmail.com for an application form, which you may fill out and email back to us.

Please allow a few days for a response, as we are only part-time volunteers. We require a completed application in order to meet a pet.

Once approved, if you meet a pet and all agree it is a good match: a volunteer will do a home visit, you will sign an adoption contract, pay the adoption fee, and begin the approval period. Generally, adoption fees are $250–$350 for dogs and $50–$150 for cats, and include spaying/neutering, basic vaccines, and microchipping, all required by our rescue.

All of our adoptions include a 7-day money-back approval period. After 7 days, a pet must still be returned to our rescue but adoption fees are not refunded.
