My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PETUNIA is a beautiful, black & white girl, who arrived as a stray. She is approximately 1.5 yrs old. She hasnt been with us very long and is scared and shy, prefers hiding in her litter box. Volunteers are committed to making her more comfortable with her surroundings. An UPDATE will be posted as she becomes more familiar with her temporary home. UPDATE: Had a chance to get to spend some time with this gorgeous girl tonight! Also got more info on her arrival... she has been in the shelter system since 8-30-16!!! She was one of the cats that came to us from River Rouge Animal Shelter when they temporarily had to move out all their animals to make repairs. Rather than move the dogs & cats we took from them, back & forth, we kept them here to minimize their stress. Petunia is approximately 2 years old, has beautiful long, silky black & white fur, with a little black heart shaped nose. While she still likes to "hang out" in her litter box, if you take your time with her, letting her sniff your hand, once you start scratching her head, face & neck, she will "head bonk" your hand and push against you as you pet her. She is still shy, just a slow starter when it comes to human interaction. If you have the patience and want a loving, beautiful girl... please come to meet her during our regular adoption hours.

The animals that are posted are available, unless it is stated 'adopted'. If one is 'pending' you still may submit an application in case the adoption does not go through. The Wyandotte Animal Adoption Center has created a committee who reviews all applications before releasing any animal to a new home.

If you visit our homepage www.wacshelter.com where there are links to the questionnaire/application that helps us to place the animals into homes that match both the adopter’s and animal’s needs. Wyandotte Animal Adoption Center reserves the right to decline the adoption of any animal for any reason if it feels the home will not be a good match.

IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
We will make every attempt to contact approved applicants within 5 business days of application submission (M-F), but this will depend on the number of applications received.
Please understand that by answering the questions does not guarantee the adoption of the pet, nor are you obligated to adopt the pet.
We adopt to homes that are best fits for our animals' needs, and not on a first-come, first-served basis.

*ADOPTION FEE: Cats are $65 (cash only-sorry we can not make change) that includes spay/neuter, distemper vaccine combo test. Rabies vaccine if old enough. If you are adopting a kitten or cat please bring a carrier.
