THANK YOU for wanting a RESCUED DOG/PUP!!!!

George is a little spitfire and he will let you know it if you can’t guess it right away by his demeanor.  But it is just typical for his breed and age I believe.  George is a 6 # Chihuahua but thinks he is a 90 pound Rottweiler at times. George was rescued from the street where I am sure that he had to defend himself many times from larger and more dangerous dogs and situations.  It is amazing that he can even trust people a little. George may have a little stress disorder as he will spin to the right in a circle when he gets nervous and doesn’t seem to be able to run a
straight line when anxious. George gets frightened easily at times, and will lash out if you try to rush him to do things or come upon him when he doesn’t see you.  He will relax and let you
hold and cuddle with him when he learns to trust you, but sometimes that takes a little while.  But the adage still applies…. the way to a Chihuahuas’ heart is through their stomach!  And George likes his treats!  If you think you are the one for George, please adopt him.  He needs a loving home with no large dogs or small children.  And someone who can take time to make him feel secure.  He really can be a sweetheart, it will just take someone special to bring that out in him...could that be you?  If so, please email Juli at and she will take it from there.

GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter - ALL of our dogs are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area. UPON adoption this dog/pup will be transported to you in YOUR area!!

Each dog comes spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations that are appropriate for their age, micro-chipped, heart worm tested and on current on monthly flea/tick and heart worm preventative. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption.

****Please realize that breed mix and size when grown are guesstimates based on the dog/pup's characteristics and coloring, unless we have mother/father in our rescue...*****

ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE OF $200.00 for adoptions in TEXAS only. IF THIS IS AN OUT OF STATE ADOPTION, TRANSPORT TO YOU is included in the adoption fee of $400.00 for adult dogs and $450.00 for puppies.  We transport all over the country!!

All our dogs are socialized and we try to provide you a good understanding of the dog’s personality. Please visit our website for more information about what we do;  You will also find helpful information about transport, our adoption application and pictures of our all our dogs/pups looking for homes!!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We have local adoption events weekly at the Pets Barn on 1604 and Blanco in San Antonio.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption application required. Adoption fee of $150 for local adoptions and $350-450 for out of state adoptions (includes transport fees).
We work hard to place dogs in the right homes, if the adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in Bexar county usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal, help the adopter screen applicants and help facilitate finding another home for the dog.
