Athena's Story...
Meet Athena!! She and her brother Apollo were tied to a rescuer's fence one cold, December morning. They are both in desperate need of a forever home or a foster home. They are only about 10 months old, super sweet, and love attention. They need a little work on house training but do well in a crate. They do well with other dogs on their own but together can be protective of one another so we recommend they be adopted separately. We are unsure of how they will do with cats.

Athena is smaller, at only about 45 pounds, while her brother is around 60. They are both active dogs who love to play.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Athena, a Bronx American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Bronx, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Bronx.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bronx already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bronx breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bronx paves the way for another one to be saved.
