Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Spike is an approximately 8 year old pony gelding, located in Greenwood SC. He's an awesome mount for an intermediate rider and with a bit more time under saddle he could be great for an advanced beginner. His adoption fee is $1500 which includes full ownership including right to resale if necessary.
Spike is so much fun on a trail ride! He will go anywhere you point him, rides in front, middle or at the back, and isn't spooky. He's sure footed, confident, and doesn't mind obstacles, briars, hills, etc.
Spike has been ridden English and Western and has had about 45 days professional training at Sweet Carolina Acres plus he's had many months riding time by non professionals. Spike has a solid walk/trot/lope, sidepass, back up, and he rides out on trails and in the arena. He's a naturally laid back horse who is good for trailering, doesn't get anxious if hauled to new places, and he has good ground manners. Our videos of him were taken right after he was unloaded at an new farm so you can see he is confident in new environments. He has had a little experience with the barrel pattern at a walk/trot.
Spike is current on his basic vaccines, Coggins, hoof care, and dentistry. He's microchipped and has had a recent vet exam which showed no concerns. He's barefoot with good hooves. He's 13.3 hands tall.
Email drkathyjordan@yahoo.com with any questions, you can also go to crossroadsanimalrescue.org to fill out an adoption application to be approved to adopt from us. Filling out the adoption application doesn't obligate you in any way, we just ask that you fill it out before we set up a time to meet Spike, see our trainer ride him, and then ride him yourself. We're sure you will love him!
