Gilbert's Story...
Gilbert is a 1 year old coonhound mix with an energetic, playful personality. Gilbert seems to do well with some other dogs, but a meet and greet is required before he can go into a home with other dogs. Gilbert is a loving, friendly boy who has those 'perfect for petting,' big, soft ears that we all love. This handsome devil could use some work on his basic manners, but should catch on pretty quickly! Gilbert seems to love just about everyone he meets, but may be a bit bouncy for small kids. This handsome hound is ready to go to his forever home and be spoiled rotten, so come visit with him today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gilbert, a Martinsville Redtick Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Redtick Coonhound for sale in Martinsville, or seeking a Redtick Coonhound dog from a breeder in Martinsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Martinsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Martinsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Redtick Coonhound breeders who help with Redtick Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Martinsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
