This litter may not have been the first born in the New Year, but they are OUR first litter of the year! Three adorable puppies were being dumped in the woods during a freezing ice storm just before New Year's Eve -- seems their irresponsible "owner" decided that the end of the year would be a good time to "end it" for these babies who he didn't want and who could never have survived in that freezing weather on their own. Thank goodness our shelter director in AR was at the right place at the right time to save them.
Our resolution is to find these babies homes as soon as possible so they can have a new start in the New Year! There are 2 little girls, and then there's Tonka, the only boy. Like many out-numbered males, Tonka has learned that "Yes" is the key to happiness -- it's just much easier when the girls are happy, so he just goes with the flow!! Tonka is easy-going, lovable and is happy letting his sisters get all riled up while he just sits on the sidelines and shakes his head at their antics. He's being fostered in a home with dogs and kids and his true puppy playfulness is emerging. Tonka is about 8 weeks old and he's a very healthy boy. He looks mostly Lab with a touch of something else, and he looks like he'll be a medium sized adult.
