My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Grant is a 12 week old Great Pyrenees (mom)/ hound (dad) mix. He currently weighs 26 pounds so he will be a large dog when grown. He is up to date on his shot and worming schedule. These puppies looks definitely favor their father the hound. But they are going to have the size and wonderful disposition of a pyrenees. These three beauties were surendered to our shelter by a loving family who wanted to be sure they get excellent homes.
This is a great combination of breeds. Great Pyrenees are strong willed, independent and reserved, yet are attentive and loyal to their families. They have a calm and composed disposition. This type of dog was bred to be a guardian to livestock and was expected to keep watch over the flock. This characteristic is often transferred to their family, they are protective when it comes to their family.

Hounds are active, fun loving, happy go lucky and intelligent dogs. Nothing makes a hound happier than following an interesting scent. Due to their highly evolved sense of smell they may have selective hearing when they are on the trail of a scent. That is why it is a good idea to keep an eye on them when outside. This breed is full of energy and loves to play. Since hounds were originally bred for hunting dogs they like to stay very active and enjoy outside activities. When training this breed does best when using positive reinforcement,
