My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Simon and Garfunkel are two young boys looking for a cavy savvy home together. They were surrendered into our care because of their former guardian’s inability to properly provide for them. Up until now, they had received poor nutrition, minimal exercise, and lived in an inappropriate enclosure. Once the boys got settled, and begun exploring their new cage, as well as having daily playtime in a large secure space, they started coming out of their shells, and showing our volunteers how affectionate and curious they truly are.

Garfunkel's (gray) initial shyness is easily overthrown by his desire to make new friends, as seen in his persistent circling, and gathering information when he meets any new ECC volunteer. Once he feels he gathered enough information (matter of minutes, FYI!), he gladly shows his trust, and allows us to pick him up, pet him and show him just how much we appreciate his great manners and outgoing personality. His brother Simon (multi-color) is a bit more reserved, and needs a little more time to trust. He does not like being left behind, and will be equally determined in knowing all there is to know about any potential new human friend. Once Simon feels secure, he will make gentle advances to show his interest, and his friendship. 
The boys care for each other dearly, and are often seen napping side by side, and lovingly grooming each other. 

Simon and Garfunkel are American Guinea Pigs, under a year old, and in great health according to our vet. If interested in meeting, and possibly adopting, please contact us via adopt@emptycagescollective.org
