My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IDGSR WELCOMES GRETA INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!!

Greta is a beautiful female German Shepherd who is approximately 4 yr. old. She and Gunter, also up for adoption, are not littermates but have been together since they were young puppies. They were both abandoned in a rural area in Mississippi and found living under a bridge. A caring person took them into her home and has been taking care of them for several months. Their foster mom has this to say about Greta:
"Greta the female is the smaller of the two with big beautiful erect ears. She is extremely smart and pays attention to every detail in her surroundings. Just the slightest glance or movement from Gunter can change her direction in an instant. She is always on patrol to make sure that there are no intruders lurking about. On one of our morning walks I tripped and fell and dropped the leashes for both dogs. Greta so sweetly stayed at my side making sure I was OK and helped me up in her best doggie way.
I see them in an active home with older children. They love to go for car rides and attract a lot of attention. I take them to the local pet stores and hardware stores as often as I can and they are very well-behaved. I take them on a 20 to 30 minute walk/run every morning before I go to work. They sit so nice and polite to get their walking collars and leashes on... and sit nice when we get back in the house for me to remove the walking gear. They are so smart and have adapted so well to the good life. "

Greta and Gunter have gone though a lot together and helped each other survive being abandoned and alone. They are strongly bonded and need to be adopted together. If you would like to make Greta part of your family, please copy the link below and fill out an application. Currently being fostered in Mississippi.
