My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Holly is a very sweet and wiggly girl. She came in with an injury which we had surgically repaired. She had to have been in a lot of pain. This girl has an amazing personality.
We also had another dog who had hip surgery at the same time and a cat had leg surgery about a month prior.....over $2600 and a couple of our pets had to have testing for various issues which was about $500. We have been hit hard but we could not wait to raise funds and used our operating funds hoping we will be able to recoup at least some of the vet costs. The only way to know the actual breed would be to do a DNA test which is too costly for non-profits. You should always choose your pet by the personality, size, and energy level that will best fit your personality and lifestyle.
We post that the pet is housetrained if we were told on intake that they are or if they behave as if they are. In the shelter environment it is hard to determine if they actually are and even if they were, they will usually have to be re-trained when they go to a home. This is usually easy if you are consistent in when you take them out and use positive training methods. We can provide tips upon request.
