Mochi's Story...
Mochi is a quiet, sweet girl looking for an experienced forever home where she can relax with a loving parent. This beautiful and unique-looking girl has a lot of personality. She doesn't like being pet, which may be due to a tough life as a stray in Baltimore, but she shows her love in other ways. She loves to head butt you and follow you all around the room. When you come back from outside, she will walk up to you and give you a big welcome with her head butt. She is not a lap cat at all; she prefers to stay close to you and rub your legs. This little girl is a good eater, and she should not be free-fed as she will overeat and get fat. She is currently on prescription canned food to prevent recurrence of urinary tract crystals.

Mochi can coexist with other cats, but proper introduction procedures need to be followed. Helpful guidelines can be found on the 4Paws website. Mochi is currently in a foster home with two adults. Mochi would not be suitable for a home with very young children.

We estimate that Mochi is 3 or 4 years old. She has been spayed and micro chipped and is current on all her vaccinations. She has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

Mochi, a Merrifield Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
