My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sassy is only 3 years old, but was surrendered to us when her owner had to go into a nursing home. In another life Sassy might have been the inspiration for Thing 1 and Thing 2 in the Dr. Seuss story. With her topsy-turvy hairdo, feet that look like over-sized slippers, and a spindly, plumed tail that has a funny little kink in it, Sassy definitely has something funky going on! Sassy rides wonderfully in the car; at her recent vet appointment our medical volunteer reported that Sassy was “a delight,” even when “a tiny Yorkie was giving her hell,” Sassy “just stood looking at him wagging her tail;” afterwards she “gave hugs and kisses to every vet tech.” Our medical volunteer could not stop praising Sassy for her “vet etiquette” and finally exclaimed, “all in all, she was the best dog that I've taken to the vet in some time!” Sassy knows “sit,” “shake” (with both paws), and even wipes her mouth off when you ask her to. In the yard Sassy is energetic and playful, making us laugh when she twirls and bounces. But the best part about Sassy is that she has a real gift for making a person feel special--lovingly bouncing up to greet you and gently placing both paws on your shoulders, as if she’s asking you to dance! To invite Sassy over to help you with a housecleaning project, to swap some Dr. Seuss stories with her, or if you just want Sassy to make you feel special, please contact Tri-County Animal Rescue Center on Facebook, call 814-918-2032, or email: contactus@Tricounty-arc.org
