Paisley's Story...
Pretty Paisley just wants some loving and will even jump through the agility tire to prove it. This medium sized three-year-old will walk with you when you want to and will follow obedience commands when she wants to – but she is always up for some pets and cuddles. Occasionally her hound heritage will pay attention to a passing bird and her enthusiastic nature will have her jumping for joy but the rest of the time she just wants your attention. Paisley is young, healthy and happy and a dyed-in-the-wool love bug looking for someone to cuddle with – could you be the perfect fit?
Please call the shelter 516-944-8220 during working hours (Mon. to Fri. 8AM-4:30PM; Sat. 12-4PM) for more information about Paisley, the adoption process at the shelter, and to confirm availability. Please go to www.theshelterconnection.com for more information about and directions to the shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Paisley, a Port Washington Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Port Washington, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Port Washington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port Washington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port Washington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port Washington paves the way for another one to be saved.
