Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sydney is one of those understated dogs who gets over-looked by adopters running to see the more excitable or glamorous looking dogs at the shelter. This is a mistake though as she is an undiscovered treasure just waiting for the discerning adopter to recognize her potential. Sydney is about a year-and-a-half old and is almost certainly full grown at her medium sized 67lbs. She came to us in early September and has shown a reserved personality but does connect with the handlers as she gets to spend time with them and once comfortable she enjoys petting. Sydney is generally calm and walks nicely on the leash. The only time Sydney became noticeably excited was when a squirrel was cheeky enough to cross her path and she made to chase it. Sydney has shown little interest in toys and treats but this may just be her reserved nature waiting to learn what these things are about. Imagine the benefits of a medium sized, short haired, quiet dog who walks nicely on the leash and then ask yourself who would you most like to meet next time you visit the shelter.
Please call the shelter 516-944-8220 during working hours (Mon. to Fri. 8AM-4:30PM; Sat. 12-4PM) for more information about Sydney, the adoption process at the shelter, and to confirm availability. Please go to www.theshelterconnection.com for more information about and directions to the shelter.
