My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Scooby, a 2-3 year old hound mix. Scooby was so petrified when we first got him, we weren't able to tell you guys much about his personality, but with lots of love and patience from his foster parents Scooby is coming more and more out of his shell every day and he's really enjoying being a member of the household.

Being a typical hound 😋 he first opened up when he discovered what treats and chews were, which we like to jokingly call his "Scooby snacks" (we know, we are so witty). He's also discovered his love for playing, especially with other dogs. His fosters report he has joined the local club of hounds that play at the dog park and he had a blast at our event playing with another ESP adoptable, Darwin. Although Scooby is still a little jumpy and bashful in new situations, his goofball personality is starting to show its face and we think with a little more exposure to new environments and settings he's going to blossom into a social little guy. He's recently discovered this great invention his fosters call "the couch" and when he isn't out for a walk or chewing away at one of his bully sticks, he can be found living the good life snoozing in his spot on it.

Scooby does well in his crate when his fosters are away at work and although he isn't fully potty trained he is making great strides towards that goal. Occasionally he forgets to plan in advance and has an accident but he does potty outside and with continued consistency will have it down in no time. Scooby loves being outside and playing with other dogs so he would enjoy a fenced in backyard or someone who he could share his love for walks and the outdoors with. Despite the common misconception, Scooby is not very vocal or loud. He's currently fostered in an apartment and is on good terms with the neighbors 😊.

We know this sweet boy is going to be someone's best bud and we are hoping to get his story and photo out to reach as many people as possible to find his match. He's made such a turn around from the jumpy and skittish dog he was just a week ago we can't wait to watch him continue to show us more and more of his adorable personality as time goes on and be a part of his journey in finding a forever home.
