My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tonka is such a precious girl!
She came to us from a high kill shelter where being a pit bull, having a bum leg and being labeled animal aggressive was her death sentenced. She is beyond lucky to have gotten a foster offer willing to accept her with these issues. Tonka came out of the shelter and went straight to the vet where she was able to get an xray of her front leg that she was been favoring. At one point in her life she took a big blow to that leg and it went untreated so it is healed funny and now arthritic. There is nothing to fix it now and she has adjusted to getting around just fine.
Tonka was labeled animal aggressive at the shelter because when they tested her a young dog was trying to jump on her and play and she snapped at him. As you can imagine if you are a 7 year old dog who is in pain from a leg injury you wouldn't want another dog jumping on you either. She is currently being fostered with 2 senior dogs and a cat and is great with them. She is standoffish and likes for you to go slow with meeting her. Once you give her your time and you earn her trust she will love you unconditionally.
