My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Toby is a handsome and sweet 2 year old, 52 pound boy. He will sit and stay. It's been super cold out lately and it would be nice to have a short haired heat factory like Toby as a bed warmer. Save on heating bills! We're not sure if Toby likes other dogs. Sometimes the shelter environment is stressful and dogs aren't at ease there. You are welcome to bring your dog to meet Toby. Just bring another person to stand at the front of Animal Control and hold your dog while you walk around the adoptable area because pet dogs are not allowed back there. The staff will help you make a dog introduction in a private bonding area or outside in the potty runs.
Whenever introducing a new dog to the home, take the resident dog(s) and the new dogs out for a long, long, brisk walk. They will diffuse some energy, become familiar with each other, and start to feel like a pack traveling with their alpha. By the time you get home hopefully they will be friends and your resident dog will want to welcome his new friend into the new home, not defend his 'territory' against an intruder.
Toby is up to date with shots and already neutered. He will be micro-chipped and heartworm tested upon adoption. He came to the shelter as a lost dog on 12/29. He is in Run 804 and his ID is 591174.

When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, the names are oftentimes made up by volunteers.
