Emily's Story...
Emily is a 1 year old jet black beauty with the familiar white chest and a paw that looks like it was dipped in sugar to match her sweet personality. She can be shy but her natural curiosity takes over to sniff out her surroundings and figure things out. Emily is not overly food driven and takes her time to eat meals and treats. She lives with a 6lb Maltese and takes her cues from him and is very gentle with the old guy!

She has very quickly discovered that the bagel bed in her crate is like a 5 star hotel and she loves camping out there as home base surrounded by her toys and whatever else she can steal without getting caught. She is a collector with a stealth quiet and skilled lips that can pick up any interesting objects that are at her eye level. However with Emily a very gentle ‘No’ is all that’s required and she responds immediately.

Emily is a terrific sleeper, doing very well with her house training and car trips. She has improved very quickly with her multiple daily walks and has now ventured into downtown to check out the sites. She is still cautious with passing trucks and will stop to let them go by but is less bothered with cars. She shows concern with approaching pedestrians unless we speak. A quick ‘Hello’ and she settles back into her prancing trot.

With a little encouragement Emily will come in for head and ear rubs and will stand forever for belly rubs from her foster family. She is a gentle, sweet girl that has been a wonderful gift for the holidays to see her flourish and settle in to home life.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emily, a Glastonbury Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in Glastonbury, or seeking a Greyhound dog from a breeder in Glastonbury.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Glastonbury already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Glastonbury breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Glastonbury paves the way for another one to be saved.
