Josie's Story...
Josie is a precious basset/dachshund mix that was picked up as a stray in rural LA. She is around 5 years old. She is nearing the completion of heartworm treatment and is doing well. She is sweet and loving. She likes to be walked and she does fine on car rides. She is housebroken as well. She came to us with mammary tumors but these have been removed and all were benign. She is vaccinated, spayed, had a dental, was microchipped and will be heartworm negative when she completes treatment mid Jan. 2017.
Josie's adoption fee is $300 and the fee to transport as far as Putnam, CT is $185. We check vet references and do home visits prior to an adoption. We require that our dogs be on monthly year round heartworm prevention. Please email QueenB534@aol.com for more information and to request an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Josie, a Folsom Basset Hound/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Dachshund for sale in Folsom, or seeking a Basset Hound/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Folsom.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Folsom already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Folsom breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Dachshund breeders who help with Basset Hound/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Folsom paves the way for another one to be saved.
