My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This 5 year old sunkissed beauty is Winter. On January 2014, Winter was left outside for 7 days after her owner was evicted from their home. No food, water, or shelter and both the ASPCA and NYPD failed her. She waited outside the door of the house shaken up, and afraid. She looked defeated, emaciated, and in poor shape. Lori, the owner rescued her, and Winter became a HAAR dog. She is a very sweet girl, who has had a litter or 2 before she was found. While staying with us, we noticed her gaining some weight, and we were so happy. To our surprise she was gaining weight because she was pregnant. She gave birth to some adorable puppies who have all been adopted. Sad story to tell as that is what always happens. Everyone wants the pups but rarely the mama. Winter is such a pleasure to be around. She loves being outdoors, and in a routine would be housebroken. She enjoys sitting on your lap as if she was a 5lb dog and gives your face a tongue bath. She is very inquisitive and smart. Winter is a power house so she would need someone who could handle her strength. I do not think Winter ever had a stable home prior to being in the shelter, so she would love a home to decompress, and unwind in. Winter would be great to be the only pet for now. She is not fond of cats, and is good with older children.
