Duke's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Duke's Story...
Meet Duke him and Daisy are a very bonded pair of senior dogs who are our newest members of F.U.R. Daisy & Duke came into Flagler Humane Society as strays in October. When Daisy was adopted and Duke stayed behind, both dogs shut down and neither dog would eat. When they were reunited, they were happy again... but back at the shelter.

Thanks to our devoted fosters they are now safe and happy in a foster home, but they're dreaming of finding their FURever home... together, of course. They're 8 years old, about 50 pounds each, fully vetted, and amazingly sweet and gentle. If you'd like to be their happily ever after, we'd love to hear from you.

We start all of our adoptions with a one week sleepover, so you know everything there is to know before finalizing the adoption.

Adoption Fees for puppies under 6 months old: $225
Adoption Fees for dogs/puppies 6 months old or older: $150
This includes vetting, UTD Vaccinations and spay or neuter

We ask that you fill out an adoption application before you meet our animals. You can download it here: http://www.floridaurgentrescue.com/adopt

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke, a Jacksonville Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium) for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium) dog from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Mixed Breed (Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
