Shaunee's Story...
This pretty little girl is Shaunee; a grey and white tabby domestic short hair female. She was approximately 4 months mid-December. Shaunee is full of energy and smart as a whip. She learned how to activate the laser toy and flipped it on to entertain her litter mates while in foster care. She loves to run around and play, but will stop for a snuggle.

Shaunee and two of her litter maters, Kalona and Nyx are at our Adoption Center in PetSmart, 2665 N. ElstonAve., Chicago. Her other two litter mates Shekinah and Qhuinn, as well as their mama Cormia are in foster care. All are fully vetted and available for adoption.

Cormia and all 5 babies were rescued from CACC under the names of Julie and the Juveniles.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shaunee, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
