My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This little scruffy pup is approx 4.5 months old and 10 lbs as of 1/16. He looks like a long haired dachshund mix with maybe some other type of terrier. His coat was in very poor condition when we rescued him and it is now growing back very nicely. It is soft and fluffy. He has a wonderful personality and just loves to play with his foster buddies. He is doing pretty well on his house training and will need some leash/harness training. He is Mr Personality, but is very shy round the camera , so hard to get photos of this cute little dog. He would prefer a home with another doggie playmate and we think a home with children over 10 would be suitable.

The total adoption donation of $475 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. The application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/

Just as a note, if you are in Massachusetts and are adopting directly from Texas rather than from a local foster, there are new quarantine laws in effect. All rescues must be quarantined 48 hours at a state run facility, and in addition, a second interstate health certificate is required to be issued by a Massachusetts vet. This new law may add an additional cost.
