My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Apollo is an energetic and loyal dog that thrives on human interaction and activity. He is also a very good cuddler when you sit or lay next to him, he loves being around people. He is also very good with kids and even babies; he approaches them with care and always with a wagging tail.

Apollo is also a dog that needs daily physical activity. He truly loves going on long walks and being able to sprint occasionally. He is very good off-leash in dog parks, and is extremely social and friendly and other breeds.

Apollo allow knows basic commands, Sit/Stay/Down, and does very good with recall if you need to get his attention. He is a dog that needs daily reinforcement of these commands. One way we have helped maintain this is making him Sit and Stay while we prep his food and water. Once the bowls are placed in his area, and he has maintained his Sit command, we say “Go” and he knows it’s time to eat.

He is also an extremely intelligent animal and picks up on situations and vibes immediately. He is a dog that needs a routine and a “job” that keeps him happy.

Apollo is also a huge fan of dog toys and expends a lot of energy when it’s play time. We use play time to help reinforce Down commands, making him stop and drop the toy to focus.

Apollo does very well in a moving vehicle and enjoys trip. When it comes to walking he does best with a harness that attaches to the front of his chest (Gentle Leader Harness).
