Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Fred was a very frightened boy when he came to Lizzy's Lodge Rescue from a D.C. shelter. He was afraid of everyone. He has since become a happy boy, gladly greeting people he meets for a quick pat. He has the body of a Dachshund, but is a mixed breed. Mixed with what? We're just not sure. He is approximately 2 years old and weighs about 12 lbs. Fred will do better as the only dog in the house. HOWEVER, FRED LOVES CATS! If you have a friendly cat in your house and are looking for a great dog, Fred's your man! Although he has made great progress, Fred needs to come to you on his terms and in his time. It will probably take him a couple days to warm up and feel safe in a new home. He bonded quickly with his foster mom so in the right environment and given time to feel comfortable, Fred will blossom. But because of his fears, we will not place him in a home with children. He is utd on vaccinations, neutered, and can't wait to find his forever home. Fred is such a special boy, loved by everyone who has cared for him, both in the shelter and in our rescue. We need to find him the special home he deserves.
