Piper's Story...
Everyone meet Piper!! Piper is a 2 year old shepherd mix available for adoption. She has such a sweet face with beautiful markings. Piper is going to be a medium to large sized dog so she needs a family who is prepared for that. She would love a big fenced in yard so that she can run around and play. She loves toys and would enjoy going on long walks. Also, we have been told that she is great with kids, other cats and dogs. What more could you want? Piper's adoption fee is $160 which includes her being spayed and being up to date on all of her shots and vaccinations. Come by WHS and see this sweet girl. All she wants is a loving home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Piper, a Newburgh Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Newburgh, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Newburgh.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newburgh already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newburgh breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newburgh paves the way for another one to be saved.
