Lucy's Story...
"Are you looking for a sweet and loving dog who'll be absolutely devoted to you? Well, look no further. My name is LUCY, and I'm one of the nicest gals around. I'm a six-year-old hound/ cattle dog mix, and everyone agrees that I'm one special pooch. When you visit me out in the play yard, I'll either snuggle in close so you can pet me, or roll over for a belly rub. I'll be a wonderful family pet who'll enjoy spending time with her people. I like certain other just depends. A dog like me is destined to become a cherished member of the family. I'd like to go on a daily walk in my new home, and a yard would be nice, too. I'm a gentle lady, and I know how to sit on command. The staff is fairly certain that I've already been house trained. I'm listed as a large dog, but I'm right on the edge of medium and large, weighing in around 60 pounds. Please come get to know me here at the El Cajon Animal Shelter. I'm ready to start the new chapter of my life, and maybe it will be with you! Love, Lucy"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a El Cajon Hound (Unknown Type)/Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type)/Cattle Dog for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type)/Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type)/Cattle Dog breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type)/Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
