Like the famous football player who shares his name, Rudy has overcome his fair share of obstacles. Rudy was born with a deformed back leg, leaving him without one paw. But Rudy doesn’t let it slow him down in the slightest. Those who aren’t aware of his uniqueness have trouble discovering it when they first meet him. Rudy runs, plays, and loves just like any other puppy. He doesn’t let it affect him and he knows his perfect family will be very accepting of his uniqueness. Our sweet little Rudy is looking for the perfect home to match his unique personality. Rudy loves the outdoors. He would play outside all day if the weather would allow it. When he’s not exploring the outdoors, little Rudy loves to grab his favorite toy and crawl into his foster mom’s lap, giving her plenty of puppy kisses in return. Rudy isn’t much of a jumper, so he waits until you sit down and let him cuddle up with you. Still a young puppy, he is working hard on potty training and does exceptionally well when kept on a schedule. Rudy quickly quiets down when put in his kennel and sleeps well through the night. Rudy’s best assets are his quiet demeanor and soft fur which makes him the perfect cuddler.
Rudy was rescued from a rural outdoor-only shelter in Oklahoma where there is no adoption program. Dogs are held for two weeks and if not reclaimed by their owners, they are killed. There is no electricity, no shelter from the elements except a plastic dog house with hay, no volunteers to come walk them, and little to no chance of making it out alive. Dolly's Legacy is working hard to save them from a terrible fate and give them the chance they deserve at a happy life with loving families.
Rudy was born approximately 9-3-16 and is a Blue Heeler/Australian Shepherd/mix. Rudy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative & dewormed. Adoption fee is $400. The FIRST step is to have you complete our online adoption application. All adoption appointments are scheduled AFTER your application has been approved.
