My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peanut is a precious 9 month old neutered male who is an energetic Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix. He was born April 3rd, 2016, and weighs in at 12 pounds. He has a coarse coat that's very thick but doesn't shed much. Little Peanut is house broken, very intelligent & friendly. He was raised from 6 weeks old with his male litter mate, Harley (also available see separate posting), and two other dogs that are both under 5 lbs, & an 18 lb cat. So, he gets along with other dogs & even cats! He's not an aggressive male. He has never met a stranger, but if a stranger enters my house, he lets me know it until greeted by the person. He's an excellent alarm to unusual noises-better than my alarm system!
Peanut is crate trained. He sleeps all night in a large wire crate with his male litter mate, Harley. Occasionally, if I get home & feed them late, one of my Jack Russell/Chihuahua mixes will bark during the night to let me know he needs a potty break! But, usually they sleep all night. If they go out in the night, they return to their bed and go right back to sleep.
Peanut is micro-chipped, neutered, up to date on all shots, on heart worm prevention meds, and doggie door trained. He is also leashed trained with a halter (he's never had a collar on).
During the day, he is left in a small area of my house with his best buddy Harley. They are old enough now that they do not usually have accidents. They are left 8-10 hours each day while I go to work.
My prayer is that is that some kind, understanding, patient person will love, keep, and raise him (and hopefully, his litter mate, Harley), forever. No kids. Must have securely fenced yard... no electronic fencing. Home check and vet check mandatory. Adoption fee is 150.00. Fill out the online application on www.texasrussellrescue.com.
