My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bunny is a very intelligent girl and learns quickly. She is very sweet, loves to cuddle and makes friends easily with people and other dogs. She is a young girl approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 41 lbs.

Bunny has been spayed, has had all of her vaccinations updated including rabies, has been heart worm tested negative, flea treated and dewormed.

Here is what her foster parent had to say:

Bunny is an absolute delight to have in our home. She is so sweet and playful. She loves being around her people and loves playing with our other dogs in the home. She can be shy upon meeting new people but she warms up quickly and has been friendly with everyone. We have not had the opportunity to have her around children while in our care but she has not shown any reasons why she wouldn’t be good with anyone. Due to her energy level however she may be best suited to older children. She is happy to cuddle or go for a hike and she is very respectful in the home.

She has shown no aggression to anyone for any reason. She easily shares her food and her toys and can be picked up to be put in the car with no problem. Bunny is great with all dogs and plays well. She is fine with dog-savvy cats that are confident but if the cat is nervous/runs, Bunny’s prey drive can get her interested.

Bunny is an absolute delight to have around the home. She does not go on furniture unless invited, does not try to steal food and will stay on her bed when directed to wait there. There is no counter surfing or chewing and no destructive behaviours. She knows many commands such as “sit”, “come”, “stay”, “shake a paw”, and has shown good recall in confined areas. She is fully house trained and is fully crate trained. She goes into her crate upon command just by saying “crate”. She will sometimes whimper a bit when she first goes in but she settles quickly. She is crated while we are at work (~5 hours) and overnight while we are sleeping with no issues.

Bunny is leash trained and she walks well on leash but would benefit from using an easy-walk harness and some leash training to avoid pulling. She is not reactive on leash towards other dogs, people or other distractions. She does not try to bolt out the door but does need supervision if out in the yard. If not stimulated, she may try to hop the fence. Bunny is great in the car. She sits in the back no problem.

Bunny would benefit from an active home. She is so smart and learns quickly. She would be fine with another dog or without, as she loves to play either way. A fenced yard would be necessary and she would benefit from lots of stimulation.

She would do best in a home with a large fenced yard and lots of toys. She would do well with a single person or a family she is very adaptive and versatile.

If you think Bunny would be a good choice for your situation, please go to our main website at uglymuttsdogrescue.com and submit an adoption application for consideration.
