My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Foster Home needed for Saturday, Jan. 21

Rose, Female red tick hound, 3 years old, 60 pounds.

Here is what the TN shelter volunteers have to say about Rose:
This is one SWEETHEART!! She has spent some time in a foster home and been a great house guest. She does best where she can run and play in a fenced yard. That sweet face says it all!!

Rose is HW+ and is ready to come to IL and receive the 2nd part of her treatment. This would require her to be seen in North Aurora for 2 shots 24 hours apart. After the shots, she would be on bed/crate rest for 30 days.

Safe Haven Dog Rescue pays for vetting and provides supplies while you foster.

She is also available for our Foster to Adopt program. This program allows you to be the family that greets her when she arrives in Illinois. Foster to Adopt families have the first option to adopt if you determine this is the pup right for you!

While you foster, we pay all expenses from vetting, to food and we provide a crate, leash, collars, and toys. Your family provides love (something he desperately needs!) and a safe place to lay her head until she finds her forever home.

We also require that you have the ability to take the pup to routine veterinary visits at our participating vets. These vets are located in Wheaton, Naperville, Geneva, South Elgin, and Elmhurst. Spay/Neuters are done in Geneva, South Elgin, and North Aurora.

Fostering is the most life giving thing you can do for a dog or puppy! It is a very rewarding experience that will make a huge impact on their life. By becoming a foster you are saving 2 lives - the animal you bring into your home while he or she waits to be adopted, and the animal who gets to take your foster’s place in the shelter.

Please email safehavendogsIL@yahoo.com for a foster application or additional details.
