My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you have your heart set on adopting a puppy rather than an older dog, Zee might be just the friend you’re looking for. This seven-week- old female is a Labrador/Boxer mix and parvo survivor with a white body and striking black markings on her face and ears. More importantly, her good looks are matched by typical puppy charm.

Although Zee is not housebroken, she is already sleeping through the night in her crate which is a big plus given her young age. Zee is happiest cuddling on your lap while you watch TV or read a book. She also likes playfully wrestling with the three larger dogs (St. Bernard, Newfoundland and Newf mix) that she is currently being fostered with…and will back off when the dogs make it clear they are done with her silliness. Zee has a moderate energy level and would do best with a fenced yard where she can run around freely. She did fine when she got her first bath, nails clipped and shows no signs of resource guarding. However, like all puppies, Zee will need a home that will give her the necessary training and structure that dogs crave.

Zee will be available for adoption the weekend of January 21. If you are interested in possibly adopting Zee, the first step is to fill out an application at www.wagginghearts.org. Zee will be making her public debut at Pet Supplies Plus in Gurnee on January 21 from 11-3.

If you are interested in meeting and thinking about adoption, please visit our website, http//www.wagginghearts.org, and submit a completed adoption application. Due to the high volume of applications we receive we are only able to process fully completed applications. All applications are processed in the order that they are received. On our website you will also find our adoption process and fees. Since we are a foster based rescue we are unable to set up meet and greets until a completed application is on file and has been approved.

Wagging Hearts is a foster-based, non-profit rescue organization.
