My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BOOTZ

Neutered Male                  Grey & White     Schnauzer/Poodle Mix     10 mo. old     18 lbs.Fee:  $350

Hi, I’m Bootz.  My name was given to me by my former owner, who had to move really far away and couldn’t take me with him.  Not sure why he chose Bootz for a name; I would think he might have called me Rags because of my crazy hairdo and my snaggly teeth that give me a comical smile.  Anyway I like my name because he gave it to me and we had a really good thing going until fate intervened.

But enough about the past.  I need to tell you about myself so we can get on with the future.  Well, I’m a strong, sturdy guy who is very friendly and who has a lot of curiosity about the world.  I love to go exploring, so I think I would be a good companion for someone that likes to go for long walks or even for hikes.  The folks that volunteer here and take me for walks seem to think that an active person would be a good match for me – but they also think I need to learn some leash manners.  Ok, I’ll admit to that, but really I’m not even a year old yet and I haven’t really been taught that particular thing.  Hey, I would be happy to learn!

I may not have been taught to walk well on a leash, but I was taught to not do my business in the house.  Myself, if I had my choice between a housebroken dog and one that knows what “heel” means, I’d take the housebroken dog.  Don’t you agree?  (And as I said, I’m happy to learn this heel business and any other things that you think are important.  You have my word for that.)

I’m really hoping that you will read this and say to yourself, “Bootz is just the dog I’ve been looking for.”   Then all you have to do is get in touch with the rescue people and come to the kennel to meet me.  We could go for a walk and you could give me a couple of pointers on leash technique while we get to know one another.  I'll be waiting for you here!  And please do try to come soon.

Dogs are vaccinated, microchipped  and spayed/neutered before adoption.

The necessary first step to inquire about any dog, is to complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form. Once we receive the NCPR Adoption Interest Form, a volunteer will contact you promptly. We need your information to match you with the perfect companion.
