Sam's Story...
Up for adoption: "Sam." This sweet soul can be adopted in Texas and New England.

Sam was a victim of divorce. At 7 yrs old, he found himself on death row, dumped at a high kill shelter because his family could not get along and split, leaving him at death's door. There was nothing Sam had done to deserve this.

Sam went through a stage of sadness while in his foster's home, but has now found joy in life again. He is very loyal, and will follow his person around everywhere he or she goes.

Sam is always greeting with a tail wag! He is good on the leash, great with kids and other dogs, and he is fully housebroken. He would love a family of his own who won't abandon him. Sam weighs 65 lbs, is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam, a Austin Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Austin, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
