My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPT HENRY FORD (AKA HUNKY HANK)

Hank is an *American Bully*, and is a very special dog to us and all who meet him. He was tossed out of a car emaciated, with sores, and starving at the Ford plant on the south side of Chicago and spent two days there in the freezing cold foraging for food and shelter. A kind hearted person went and got him and contacted us to help.

Hank is an exceptionally sweet dog and loves all people. He is a big boy weighing 80 pounds. We are guessing he's 4-5 years old. Hank has had a horrid life and we want to find him the best family we can who's interested in providing him lots of love and attention and great food and medical care. Hank has some mild arthritis and is on joint supplements. If he plays too hard he can get sore.

Hank loves to play with toys, and is quite the goofball - tossing them up to himself and chewing on them while flailed out on the floor. He makes us smile constantly.

Hank is fine with other dogs (not always immediately though, he is too eager often at first), cats and children, though he'd be the perfect only dog. He lives with a crazy kitten who teases him relentlessly. He's a gentle giant type dog. Hank is potty trained, foster Mom reports he's not having accidents in the house at all.

Hank's adoption fee is $250. This includes his neuter, tail tip amputation surgery, heartworm test, fecal test, vaccines and his microchip (which costs $10.99 to register).

Happy Tails Rescue Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit foster-based rescue based in Munster, Indiana. We have no shelter, all of our animals are cared for in loving foster homes until their forever home match is found. All of our animals are fully vetted before adoption, including distemper, rabies, and bordatella vaccines, a heartworm test, fecal test, microchip, and are spayed/neutered. Adoption fees range from $150-$350. If you're interested in meeting one of our animals please fill out an application first. If approved we will then arrange a meet and greet. Happy Tails does not do same day adoptions because we do a short home visit to make sure our animals are being placed in safe environments.
