My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Let me introduce myself! My name is Duke and I came to K9 Kindness from a foster home in Missouri. I was found living outside before I was found by my foster home in Missouri. I am not sure how anyone could leave me in those condition because I am one of the sweetest most lovable dogs my current foster mom has ever had the pleasure of meeting! I am approximately 8 months young and they call me a hound mix. I am a pretty good size probably weighing around 45 pounds. I came to my current foster home not fully potty trained, but in the week that I have been here I have improved tremendously! I have only had one accident in the past four days! I am a fast learner!

I am great at walking on a leash and know how to sit and lay down. I LOVE car rides and giving hugs and cuddles. I can’t get enough of my humans! I am excellent with kids of all ages and dogs. My current foster family has an in-home daycare and I LOVE all the children! I have not been around cats that I am aware of. Due to my less than ideal prior conditions, I am slightly protective of my food when it comes to the other dogs in my foster home. But don’t worry, my foster mom is currently working on making me not so protective, she tells me there is more than enough food to go around! I prefer to be in my kennel when my humans are not home.

At night I currently sleep with my foster humans because I am slightly spoiled. I am a bit of a chewer just like any puppy so having some dog toys around is a must! I do like to get myself into normal puppy mischief. I am used to a fenced in yard so my foster home is unaware if I am a runner. But don’t worry; I don’t dig, so that is a plus! My foster mom says I have a vet appointment on the 27th to get neutered, micro chipped, and have all my vaccines up to date! If you are interested in making me a part of your family please let K9 Kindness know.

Duke's adoption fee is $250. Adopters must live within a 175 miles or a 2 1/2; hour drive from the Quad City area.
