My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jojo.

Jojo is a 4 month old, flame point Ragdoll mix. Jojo is the definition of a floppy Cat, but much as she loves being pet, she does not initiate it. Jojo is quite timid about people reaching out to her or approaching too fast, but once you do slowly pick her up, she really loves the attention. She doesn't mind the commotion of a busy home. She gains confidence being around other cats will need another young cat in the home to play with, sleep with and show her life is safe. Jojo would be ok with older children that will respect her boundaries and allow her to accompany you without pushing for more. Jojo need a home where the family will give her patience and build her confidence. She likes to be up high, observing the family through the day, and will cuddle up at your feet during the night. She isn't a lap cat but certainly is a great companion. Jojo is a gentle girl who is such a sweetheart. Everyone who meets her loves her sweet nature.

If you are interested in adopting this precious girl, please contact us at merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com for an application. She is in a foster in Austin, Texas. Companion Cat Policy does apply. Her adoption fee is $175.

Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.

Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you call or email us, we will provide you with an application via email.

COMPANION CAT POLICY: Unless otherwise indicated, all cats under the age of 3 must go into a home with another cat/kitten under the age of three or be adopted with a buddy. Ragdolls and Maine Coons are physically slow to mature, benefit greatly from the social interactions with another cat and often long for the companionship. Obviously, some young adults not raised around other cats or with more independent personalities may be exceptions to those rules, but that is up to the discretion of the Rescue to assess that need and is not negotiable. Special prices are made for buddy adoptions.
