Agatha's Story...
This is Agatha. She is quite adorable. The bump on her head was a cyst and has been removed. Agatha is about a year old. She is an active and playful young dog who would do best with an active family and a playmate. A fenced yard is preferred because being a young hound, she does have a habit of roaming. Agatha has been trained on an invisible fence and she is also house trained. Agatha enjoys chew toys and Nylabones. She is still young and needs toys of her own or she will likely get into trouble. She is crate trained and has not been left unattended in the house. She loves other dogs and people of all ages. Agatha is in a home with cats that are used to dogs and she does very well with them. Agatha is being fostered in Huntsville, AL. Please feel free to contact FOR at info@forrescue.net with any questions or for more pictures of Agatha.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Agatha, a Homewood Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Homewood, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Homewood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homewood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homewood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homewood paves the way for another one to be saved.
