My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or the southern Oklahoma area.

NAME: Pearl
GENDER: Female (Spayed)
AGE: About 1 Year
WEIGHT: About 15 Pounds (needs to lose 2-3 pounds)
DOGS/CATS: Great with other small dogs, Yes with cats
CHILDREN: Should be good with children

Meet sweet Pearl. Pearl got her name because of her beautiful coloring. It fits her perfectly because she is a "gem" of a little girl.

Pearl was found in an apartment complex crying in the bushes. She had been heard crying for several days, and finally one of the residents gained her trust and got Pearl to come to her. She had no collar and no microchip. When the attempts to find her family failed, CRT agreed to bring her in to our program to keep her safe and help her find a new home. Pearl is super sweet and is grateful to everyone who has helped her along the way. Now she is asking for you to help her find a forever family.

Pearl gets along great with the other dogs in her foster home. She loves to play with them - her favorite game is "chase". She loves to be outside where she can run and chase them. She also loves to play with her toys. Her favorites are the chew toys. Pearl is only about 1 year old, and has youthful energy that will make you smile! She would love to be in a forever home with other dogs.

Pearl loves her foster family. She was shy for the first few days, but once she felt safe, Pearl turned in to a huge love bug. She loves to be around her family all the time. Pearl loves to cuddle and be on your lap. She longs for love and affection. If you want a cuddle buddy to hang around with and watch TV with, Pearl would like to volunteer for the job! Note that Pearl took a little longer to warm up to her foster Dad, but she soon found he was a great guy! She seems to enjoy all people and once she is comfortable, she is an equal opportunity lover! Pearl gets along fine with the Grandchildren in the family, so we believe she will be good with children.

After just a few days, Pearl has settled right in to the household routine in her foster home. She is easy to love and get along with. Pearl is working on her potty training and almost has it down. She will go potty outside and will also use pee pee pads. She rarely barks, but will give you a "head's up" if strangers are coming to the door. Pearl is currently about 15 pounds, and they vet would like her to lose a few more pounds. So her new family will need to watch her food intake to make sure she maintains a beautiful figure!

As mentioned, Pearl loves to cuddle. She loves to sleep with her humans and snuggles right up next to them. If you are looking for an adorable little girl to cuddle and dream with, Pearl is the one for you!
