Smudge's Story...
This curious little girl looks like she stuck her nose into something, so we named her Smudge. She was found in the deepest, darkest forests of northern Alabama, alone, hungry, and frightened. Now that she is safe and warm with 4 canine and 2 feline foster brothers,, she is learning it's ok to trust and even play with others. She loves ear scratches but is not fond of being held for long. Her trust is growing though, she occasionally will sit in our laps and nap for a bit. She is playful, cute, and of course curious, just as all kittens should be! She is about 5 months old and is happiest with another cat's tail to play with. She is fostered in Huntsville, AL. Email if interested.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smudge, a Marietta Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
